I am trying to use my keyboard as an midi-device for my pc, making it easier
to write in notes. It should be fairly simple, pressing PC-mode>on on my
keyboard and selecting SB Audigy MIDI port in my notation software
(Musicator). They are connected with a midi-cable with two round 5-pin jacks
in the first end and a 15-pin joystick connector in the other.

I have fuzzled with for a while and I am getting frustrated. I don't even
know if the keyboards's ports works (or the cables's). How can I find out
that? Any other methods I can use to diagnostic what the problem is?

Any help will be appreciated.

Make sure you have Midi IN going to Midi OUT and vice versa!

I have tried both ways (midi in/out), and I have a driver called something
like Creative Game-port installed, but no sound.

Check the manual on your PSR, some of them require that you do something
like engage the record system before midi out will work.

Thank you all for your response so far, but it doesn't work yet.

The manual only tells to change the option PC-mode to on. There are other
options (External Clock, and InitSend) but I don't think that they should
have anything to do with it.
