Greetings everyone,

(if 'everyone' is the correct word in this context...)
I just tried to get to:
http://home.roadrunner.com/~jgglatt/
and it redirected me to timewarnercable.com/en/residential.html :-(
Likewise did:
http://home.roadrunner.com

Does anyone know what happened to Jeff Glatt's stuff ?
There is a:
http://jeff-glatt-road-runner.software.informer.com/
but it doesn't seem to have all that MIDI reference stuff;
also there is an _old_ topic from 2008
"Where the heck did Jeff Glatt's site go ???"
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mididev/7N7rYW49hLA
where the answer seems to be that "it went to roadrunner.com" :-(

Any ideas ?

Regards, Peter

There's a mirror of Jeff's site at:

In Feb, Vint Cerf, Google vice-pres, talked to the AAAS in San Jose
about his fears that the 21st Century will be a "digital Dark Age".
I often worry about what will happen to pjb.com.au when I, you know,
stop paying the bills.

Hi,

I have Jeff Glatt's web site saved as a PDF (the web site entitled MIDI Technical Fanatic's Brainwashing Center). I don't know him, but one night in 2014 I was looking up info on RPN & NRPNs and it came up in Google. There was so much useful info about MIDI and all things related to making music in the box, I had to grab a copy for myself.

It's a 671 page full PDF with all its links intact, exactly as the site appeared on 1/26/2014. I will upload it to Dropbox if you three or anyone else are still interested in using it as a reference. It's come in handy several times over the years.

I've no clue if any of you will see this message 7 years after your conversation but I figured it's worth a shot. If you'd like a copy of the PDF, reply to me here, or *even better*, drop me an e-mail at: ***@gmail.com

All the best,
Russell

Hi!
Well, I at least keep comp.music.midi on my group list, so I can
check if anything still shows up (it never does..at least until
your post!), but I'm probably the only one!

Some googling shows that both Jeff Glatt and Peter Billam still
seem to be around -- I had quite a bit of conversation and
code-sharing here with Peter back in the day, but he departed
long ago. I don't know why Jeff dropped his site, I used it too
quite a few times.

I think I have enough sources of MIDI info not to bother with
your site dump, but I'm glad somebody preserved it! I think it's
also available of the Wayback Machine. Haven't checked the link
above. pjb.com.au is still active, anyway.

Anyway, thanks for the post! Thought you'd like to know that
one person has seen it at least!

Cheers,
-- Pete --
[PS When I cruise the Web these days, I sometimes think that
Vint Cerf's fears are coming true! Firefox NoScript helps a
lot, without it I find a lot of sites unusable.]
