I've got an IVM (1990) that is missing the power
supply. Guitar Center has been trying
to find a power supply for me since
last September!
I've got a lot of discs (5 years of programming!)with
MIDI data
that I stored on 3.5 discs using the IVM (other
equipment involved is Roland U20 keyboard and an
MMT8 sequencer.
My PC can't read the data, so my discs are useless
without the IVM. Any idea what the format is used on
the IVM and any way to get a pc to read the discs?
Thanks,
Jim

That was an old post. None the less, I have a MD128 that was working a few weeks ago, and when I acquired it and left, found that they had robbed the proper power cord. So if you still have a power cord we could help each other perhaps.

I have an IVM MD128 with a power cord & User's Manual, but it will not read my Imation floppies any more from year 2005. If you're still out there, reply to me and maybe we can help each other. Thanks

Hey gang, I just got an old IVM MD 128 MidiDisk and am in need of a power supply, or power specs so I can possibly build my own.

To everyone who has MidiDisk floppies they can't read, I wanted to mention the IVM MidiDisk bears an interesting resemblance to the Alesis DataDisk. In the 80s-90s Alesis was known for buying good designs from smaller companies and manufacturing them under the Alesis brand. I'm willing to bet this might be the case with the IVM DataDisk, so if you can get your hands on an Alesis DataDisk (also somewhat rare, but I see them pop up on ebay occasionally) it's worth trying to read your IVM floppies in the Alesis.

On the subject of power supplies, the Alesis also has a funky proprietary PS except it's a 4-pin unlike the IVM 6-pin so no luck for me there. Any info or pics anyone can provide of their PS would be a big help!

Do you have manuals or schematics? We can get one built if so.
